Clark, Iolene Faye Gaines

Iolene Faye Gaines Clark, 82, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Feb., 10, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Iolene's memorial Open House will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Iolene's graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

Surviving Iolene are two sons, Dave of Mechanicsville and Denny (Coreen) of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren, Brad, Brian, Brent, Karrie, Allyson, Leah, Amber and Travis; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Iolene in death were her parents; three brothers, Paul, Jim and Albert; and sister, Dorothy Petersen.

Iolene was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Springville, the daughter of Francis and Ina Dean Gaines. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and married Wayne B. Clark on Sept. 10, 1948. Iolene worked at Robert's Photo and retired after 18 years from Armstrong's Department Store, Cedar Rapids.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 30 years.

A memorial fund will be established.
