Clarence L. Domres, 81, passed away Jan. 22, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born July 14, 1936, to Elsa and Clarence Domres in Dows, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines after graduating and proudly served his country for four years. He then moved to Cedar Rapids and worked at Rockwell Collins for 30 years. After retiring, he spent his winters in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he met up with other retirees for more than 25 years, until he could no longer travel. His passions were music and gardening. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by nephew, John Leto, and niece, Melinda VanLangen, both from Des Moines; and his extended Von Maur family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Elsa.
A funeral service was held at Cedar Memorial by Paster Phil Jorgenson, and Clarence was buried at the family cemetery at Vernon Hills Township in Dows.
