Clarence A. Carlson, 91, of Iowa City, formerly of Livermore, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, in Phoenix, Ariz. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. Private burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. A Masonic service will begin at 6:30 p.m. with military rites following the Masonic service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Iowa City; Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, P.O. Box 10704, Cedar Rapids, IA 52410; or United Methodist Church in Livermore, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mardella; daughters, Debra (David) Nelson of Baltimore, Md., and their son, Brian Nelson; Terri (Jim) Foley of Holland, Mich.; and Peggy (Joe) Marchini of DeKalb, Ill., and their daughters, Madeline Marchini and Clara Marchini.
