Clara Louise White, 87, of Marion, Iowa passed away peacefully at Hallmar Village on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion on Monday, December 29, 2025 by Rev. Jim Langley and Rev. Dr. Nancy J. Redman with 10 a.m. visitation and a luncheon to follow the service. Burial Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. following the luncheon.
She was born on October 26, 1938, to parents Ethel (Huth) and Harold Swordes of Anamosa, Iowa.
Clara Married Welden “Whitey” White at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on May 25, 1958.
Clara was a devoted wife, mother, gGrandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Clara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing, playing UNO with her friends at Hallmar Village, camping at Andy Mountain Campground, Paradise Valley Campground, babysitting, playing solitaire, and reading the paper.
Clara was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Marion, Iowa, for over 60 years. She had a deep love for God and lived out her faith quietly.
She is survived by her three children; Louise White of Marion, Iowa, Linda (Bob) Johnson of Central City, Iowa, and Frank White of Marion, Iowa. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Trevor (Amber) Weber, Duane (Ben Burke) Trimble, Alyssa (Amy) White, Adam Trimble, Rusty (Hailey) Johnson, and Wesley (Haley ) Johnson; and nine great-grandchildren, Bailey, Leeha (Jacob), Ryleigh, Carter, Clayton, Alaina, Bennett, Eli, Colton.
Clara was preceded and in death by her husband, Welden; her parents; her brother, Ray, and sister, Dorothy.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian church of Marion in her memory.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hallmar Village for all the love and support they showed Clara while she was in their care. A special thank-you to her friends at Hallmar Village.
