Clara Helm
CLARA HELM Robins Clara Ann Helm, 94, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. She was born at McLeansboro, Ill., on Sept. 23, 1920, to Emery C. and Katherine Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Doerner) Wilson. She married Francis W. Helm on Aug. 25, 1946. He passed away in 2014. Besides being a homemaker, seamstress, Master Gardener and active member, teacher and officer in church, 4-H and Farm Bureau groups, she held jobs at Armstrong's Department Store and Bezdek's Garden Center. Her grand smile will be missed by all who knew her. Clara is survived by children, Arthur Helm and Beverly Hollett, both of Alburnett, and David (Susan) Helm of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, at First United Methodist Church, Central City, with visitation at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mount Clark Cemetery. Our overwhelming gratitude goes to the staff at Living Center West for their patience and loving care of Clara for the past two years. Clara was a friend to all she met and showed God's love wherever she was. Condolences and memorials may be addressed to Arthur Helm, 180 Gypsy Lane, Robins, IA 52328.
