Clar Sr., Richard G.
Richard G. Clar Sr., 77, of Delhi, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at his home after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Kenneth) Miller of Coggon and Teresa (Jerry) Albaugh of Marion; three brothers, Chuck, Ron and Denny; three sisters, Wanda, Pam and Shirley; and caregivers, John and Naomi.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Richard; and a brother, Marty.
Dick was born April 30, 1936, in Green Mountain, Iowa, the son of Helen Clar. He married Susan M. Scorpil on Aug. 18, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Susan passed away in 1992.
Richard worked at Farmstead and retired from there after many years of service. He was associated with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware and was a former member of the Eagles Club.
He enjoyed watching TV, especially old westerns, boating on Lake Delhi, woodworking, ham radios and the time spent with his friends and beloved family.
His memory will be cherished by all how knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association in Richard's name.
