Claire J. Stallman, 97, a World War II veteran of Phoenix, Ariz., died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018.
Claire was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On Oct. 29, 1941, Claire married Pauline Hall, who passed away in 1998.
Claire is survived by three sons, Alan (Mary), Arnold (Terri) and Bruce (Rhonda); four grandchildren, Chris, Jennifer, Scott and April; and one great-grandchild, Aurora.
Claire farmed in Norway and Urbana, Iowa, before moving to Arizona in 1961. Claire was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85022. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032. Internment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix, AZ 85008.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley or St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
