Clair H. Martin, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Clair is survived by his wife, Rosie; four sons, Tom (Diane) of Mount Vernon, Mike (Kelly) of Cedar Rapids, Bob (Sandy) of Marion and Rich (Heather) of West Des Moines; two stepdaughters, Tammy (Dennis) Hartgrave and Amy Allen of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Dale) Mohwinkle, Arlene Soderberg and Shirley Murphy; and three brothers, Francis, John (Kathy) and Jerry (Louise) Martin.
His parents and a sister, Helen, preceded him in death.
Clair Henry Martin was born Aug. 26, 1936, in Waukon, the son of Henry and Marie A'Hearn Martin. He married Rosalyn Janice Lutkenhaus on Nov. 21, 1983, in Cedar Rapids. He worked at Collins and then retired from General Mills.
Clair enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR and Iowa sports, and also was a great artist.
