Clearwater, Fla.
Cindy Owens passed away on Oct. 17, 2023.
She was born Jan. 1, 1956, to James and Bonna (Schumacher) Basler and grew up in Coggon, Iowa.
She graduated from North Linn High School in 1974, and went on to receive her RN and BSN degrees and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology.
She moved to California where she was employed by Merck Pharmaceuticals. In 1993 she was married to Richard “Rick” Owens. In 1994 they moved to Clearwater, Fla., and she served for 22 years as a wound care specialist at Morton Plant Hospital.
Cindy enjoyed painting, traveling, and sailing. She and Rick served as foster hosts for Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Rick; sisters Susan (David) Neustel of Alburnett, Iowa, and Jaimie (David) Fall of Port Angeles, Wash.; and her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed.
