CHUCK "CHARLIE" EVERTS
Prairie du Chien, Wis.
Chuck "Charlie" Everts, 90, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Crossing Rivers Hospital with his family by his side.
Chuck was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to John and Angie (Gallagher) Everts. Chuck married the girl of his dreams, Rose Marie Miller, on Oct. 26, 1949. From this marriage two daughters were born: Sherry and JoAnn. Chuck worked for FMC corporation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 38 years, retiring in 1984.
Chuck and Rose moved permanently to Prairie du Chien in 1999. He enjoyed spending time with his family, relishing in the fact he was the head of five generations.
He survived by his children, Sherry (Steve) Slife and JoAnn Evans (Blair Dillman); grandchildren, Jeff Slife, Jenny (Keith) Coleman and Jodi Evans; great-grandchildren, Stephen (Keasha) Evans, Miranda Rose Slife (Jayce), Drake (Brooke Engelheart) Coleman, Dylan (Jayde Schubert) Coleman, Sammy and Madison Rose Achman and Charlie Evans; great-great-grandchildren, Taylor and Finn Evans; and a cousin, Johnny Gallagher of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Angie Everts; his wife, Rose; his grandson, David Evans; brothers, James and William; and sister, Eileen Stotz.
A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at The Dousman House in Prairie du Chien, Wis. The family strongly but respectfully request no flowers. Memorials can be sent to Sherry Slife at 33166 Larry Lane, Lot 27, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821.
