Christopherson, Robert Terry Lee
Robert Terry Lee Christopherson, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Manor Care Nursing & Rehab after a lengthy illness. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. William Harnish officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Patty (Mark) Fitzsimmons of Anamosa and Kristina (Mark) Minnisquero of Dresden, Tenn.; son, John R. Christopherson of Ackley; stepsons, Michael Plummer of Cedar Rapids and Jerry Markwell of Hiawatha; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Robert Terry Lee Christopherson was born May 13, 1922, in Washington, Iowa, the son of John and Sarah (Devaney) Christopherson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in both World War II and Korea. Bob worked as a machinist at Cryovac for many years and worked several more years as a security supervisor for Cookman Security. He enjoyed photography, loved being around little children, especially babies, and trapshooting at Izaak Walton League.
