Christopher Robert Skibo died Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born October 20, 1972 in Huntington Beach, California, the son of Robert and Jeanette Skibo. Chris graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1991. He joined the Air Force in August 1991 and was honorably discharged in 1995. He served as a Senior Airman during Desert Storm.
Chris was a computer technology specialist for thirty years. His favorite activity was spending time on his computer, until the birth of his daughter, Olivia Penelope Holland Skibo on March 11, 2016. Spending time with her became his favorite activity! They went to the park, played miniature golf, watched flight videos pretending they were flying over the Golden Gate Bridge and amusement park videos pretending they were on the rides, flew drones and gliders. They visited model railroad road exhibits and took many walks together. Olivia brought much joy and laughter into Chris’s life.
Chris is survived by his mom, Jeanette Farwell, his dad, Robert Skibo, his wife, Lindsey Holland, his treasured daughter, Olivia, and two stand-in dads, William Farwell and Richard Meade.
There will be a celebration of life for Chris on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 12 PM, noon, to 3 PM at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City, Iowa. Military Honors will be at 12:15 PM.
Any donations will be given to The Wounded Warriors or made directly to www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
