Christopher James Feldmann, 41, of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018.
He was born Aug. 7, 1976, to Robert Feldmann and Linda Mae Kenny Wiley, in Dubuque, Iowa. Chris graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1995 and attended Indian Hills Community College, where he earned an associate's degree in auto body collision. He married Amy Miller on June 24, 2000, in Davis County, Iowa.
Chris served in the Iowa Army National Guard for more than 20 years. In 2004, he completed a tour of duty in Iraq and another tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2010. Chris owned Feldmann's Fiberglass in Bloomfield and also worked for JBS in Ottumwa. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He had a love for classic cars and often would attend car shows. Most of all, Chris was hardworking, honest and loved his family. He was a father, husband, son and brother, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
His survived by his wife, Amy; a son, Payton James Feldmann of Bloomfield; his father, Robert (Evelyn) Feldmann of Fruitland; mother, Linda (Mark) Wiley of Manchester; two sisters, Jennifer Feldmann of Greeley and Teresa (Pete Abram) Feldmann of Portland Ore.; two brothers, Gabriel Feldmann of Milton, Fla., and John (Kari) Feldmann of Epworth; a stepsister, Denise Collier of Muscatine; a stepbrother, Kevin McCormick of Chicago; a grandmother, Rose Feldmann of Dyersville; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beriah and Ethel Kenny; a grandfather, Francis Feldmann; and his nephew, Tyler Steele.
Funeral services with military rites will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor R.J. Montis officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, with family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services and burial of the cremated remains will be at the IOOF Cemetery at a later date.
