Christopher Ehrke, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his home. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Davey Lee; daughter, Emma Ehrke of Cedar Rapids; son, Ian Ehrke of Cedar Rapids; parents, Roger and Peggy Ehrke of Marion; and brothers, David Ehrke of Marion and Tim Ehrke of Ozark, Mo.
Christopher was born Oct. 13, 1960, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Roger and Peggy (Smith) Ehrke. He graduated from Regis High School, Cedar Rapids, and married Davey Lee Chase on Oct. 15, 1988, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Christopher was a plumber with Hanna Plumbing in Marion and a proud member of Union Local 125. He loved being a plumber. Christopher enjoyed playing cards, chess, Frisbee and kites. He also liked to work on his house and play in the garage.
A memorial fund has been established in Christopher's memory.
