Christopher Shaun Barry, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home under the care of hospice on Monday, July 24, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at All Saints Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Chris was born Feb. 29, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, to John and Betty Lou (Grimes) Barry. He was united in marriage to Maureen O'Connell on May 28, 1977, in Cedar Rapids. To this union, three children were born.
He worked in the glass business for 38 years. He enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing. Chris was a skilled cook and baker, known especially for his pies and peanut butter cookies.
Chris will be remembered for his infectious smile, positive attitude and his kind and gentle personality.
Chris is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maureen; and children, Shaun (Ashley) Barry and children, Sophia and Cooper; Kelly (Adam) Fabor and children, Raven and Duncan; and Bailey (Matt) Keister of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are his siblings, John (Judy), Tom (Gail), Mike (Cathy), Tim (Sue), Mo Brown, Brian (Deb), Scott (Brenda), Chauncey (Debra) and Joe (Elaine); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Doug Brown.
