Christine "Christy" Kay Curtis of Iowa City, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Windmill Manor in Coralville at age 51 years.
Christy was born the daughter of Terry and Myrna (Solheim) Curtis on April 23, 1965, in Marengo, Iowa. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1983 and Capri Cosmetology in 1984. She has worked at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Yearian Care Center and Mercy Iowa City until moving to San Francisco, Calif., where she work at an orthopedics clinic. Christy returned to Iowa City, where she worked at The Mill, Micky's Irish Pub, Dan Folkman's Laundromat, Hy-Vee Market Grill, St. Louis Bread and Panera.
Christy enjoyed golfing, swimming, dancing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Hawkeyes and especially the Williamsburg Raiders wrestling.
Christy is survived by her parents, Terry and Myrna Curtis of Williamsburg; siblings, Debbie and Pat DeGroot of Green Bay, Wis., Lewie and Julie Curtis of Underwood and Patrick and Brenda Curtis of Des Moines; nephews, Bryan and Taylor Curtis and Hunter and Logan De Groot; a niece, Olivia Curtis; aunts and uncles, Barb and Will Bates, Rita and Bob Harper, Bob and Jeanie Curtis, Bob and Janet Solheim and Eric and Nita Solheim; and five special cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A general memorial has been established.

Christy was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest. She was especially known for her kind and loving ways.
