Christensen, Betty L.
Betty L. Christensen, 83, of Iowa City, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be an hour of visitation before the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Betty's wishes for memorial donations were to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in her memory.

Betty L. Craig was born March 13, 1930, in Scotch Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Forrest and Lydia (House) Craig. She attended and graduated from Monticello High School. Betty was united in marriage to Eldon “Chris” Christensen on Jan. 15, 1950, in Des Moines. The couple had lived in Cedar Rapids before moving to Iowa City in 1959. Here she raised and supported her family and was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Her family includes her son, David Christensen of Johnston, Colo.; her granddaughter, Nicole Olson and her husband, David, of Evans, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Jovie and Dylan Olson; and one sister, Ethel Craig of Monticello.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Chris in 1992; her parents; and two sisters, Hazel Taylor and Ruth Duncan.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Betty's family and her services.
