Christene Elaine (Campbell) Hurlbert was born on February 24, 1951, in Webster City, Iowa. She was one of five children born to Donald and Elaine (Howlett) Campbell. She grew up in Dayton, Iowa and went to school at Dayton High School where she graduated with the class of 1969.
She passed in the comfort of her home under the care of her husband Ron and granddaughter Allison. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband Ron Hurlbert, father-in-law Gordon Hulbert, children; Cayle Campbell, Crystal (Gary) Miller, and Trevor (Jennifer) Hurlbert, grandchildren; Ashley Heald, Cayla Heald, Bree Tedford, Shaylene Campbell, Allison (Cody) Neece, Amie Todd, Ellie Miller, Abigail Miller, Mimi Miller, Asher Miller, Trinity Hurlbert, Brody Hurlbert, and Kennedy Hurlbert, great grandchildren; Xander Heald, Serena Heald, Skyler Todd, Colton Neece, two brothers "Skip" (Linda) Campbell and Dean (Carol) Campbell.
Christene was preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn "Carrie" Todd, parents Donald and Elaine Campbell, brother Donald "Butchie" Campbell, sister Cathy Campbell, niece Erin Gassaway and mother-in-law Marie Hurlbert.
Christene loved her family and was always there for any of them at any time. She had a great passion for creating beautiful quilts and other crafts. These items were mostly given as gifts and will be cherished by those lucky enough to have received them.
A celebration of her new life in Heaven will be held on October 21st at the Marengo Golf Course beginning at 1pm. A private ceremony for the family will be held at the Fairfax Cemetery at 10am the morning of.
In her last days she asked that we all celebrate her leaving this world as she was looking forward to meeting Jesus and being reunited with her daughter Carrie
