Cheryl Lynn Alberhasky, 53, died on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, following an unexpected illness.
Family funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. The Rev. Jim Bornwald will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Friends are welcome to join the family
by way of Zoom. The link may be found on Cheryl's obituary page at www.lensingfuneral.com. Friends are welcome to attend the graveside committal service at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Please wear a mask and social distance.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire Rescue or to Lone Tree Community Schools.
Cheryl was born Oct. 7, 1967, the daughter of Marvin and Carol (Maske) Hotz. Cheryl was a graduate of Lone Tree High School and attended Kirkwood College. On May 14, 1994, Cheryl married Robert "Bob" Alberhasky.
Cheryl was a para-educator at Lone Tree Schools. She loved working with all her students and fellow teachers. Cheryl enjoyed time spent reading, crocheting, and cooking for her family. She was a member of Lone Tree United Presbyterian Church.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bob; their three sons, Jimmy, Erik and Taylor; her parents, Marvin and Carol Hotz; her brothers, Kevin Hotz and Gary (Angela) Hotz, all of Lone Tree; her brothers-in-law, Matt (Mary Ann) Alberhasky and Paul Alberhasky; her stepfather, Bill Small; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her in-laws, Daniel Alberhasky and Carol Small.
