Cheryl Lou Schemmel, 57, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in her home.
Services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 2 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 pm until 2 pm. Cremation rites will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the family.
Cheryl was born October 10, 1966 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Mary Lou (Shanahan) Pierce. She married Rick Schemmel on August 5, 2002 in Davenport. They were blessed with a fur baby, Bailey in 2005.
She worked as a Production Coordinator for the QC Times since the age of 18. Cheryl loved Christmas time, camping, spending time with family/friends, visiting Mexico and Estes Park, CO. She was passionate about the Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband, Rick, fur baby Bailey, mother, Mary Pierce, father-in-law, Roger Schemmel, siblings: Cathy (Chuck) Smith, Cynthia Shanahan, Claudia (Dave) Spoden, Connie (Jim) Curtis, Carolyn Pierce (Tom), Chris Pierce and Carmen Pierce (Javier); brother-in-law, Roger (Lori) Schemmel, Jr, sisters-in-law: Rita (Tom) Hoeksema, Rebecca (Brett) Rodriguez, Robin (Brad) Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Pierce, brother, Claude, nephews: Josh and Grumpy (Matt), great-nieces, Carley and Abby, great=nephew, Jordan and her mother-in-law, Julia Schemmel.
