Cheryl Katherine Johnson, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Stonecrest Care Facility in Kansas City, Mo., from complications due to Alzheimer's disease.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Teahen Funeral Home. Burial: Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill., at a later date. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday after
1 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughters, Angela (Carl) Yost of Leland, N.C., and Denise (William) Allen of Platte City, Mo.; her grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Jacob, Austin, Sydney and Victoria; and her sisters, Karen Pedroli of St. Louis, Mo., and Donna (Jim) D'Alessandro of Jefferson City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Roman, and brother-in-law, John Pedroli.
Cheryl was born on Nov. 11, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of Clarence and Doris Kohler Grouse. She graduated from Southwest High School in 1964 and married Edward Johnson on Jan. 26, 1968, in St. Louis, Mo. For over 20 years, Cheryl was a member of the banquet staff at the Cedar Rapids Marriott, retiring in 2009.
Cheryl enjoyed taking care of her many dogs, sewing and taking care of her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
