Cheryl (Cheri) Ann Tellin, 67, of Cedar Rapids, passed away suddenly Monday, May 9, 2016, at her home. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Certified Celebrant will be Jim Parton. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cheri was born April 26, 1949, the daughter of Lawrence and Evelyn (Mikesell) Weitenhagen, in Waterloo. She worked as a housekeeper for St. Luke's Hospital for many years.
Survivors include her two children, Chad (Karen) Tellin of Cedar Rapids and Michelle (Casey) Hewitt of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Caitlon, Nathan, Jacob, Tyler and Morgan; brother, Mike (Nancy) Weitenhagen of Des Moines; niece, Sara (Brad) Deich; grandniece, Elyse Deich; and special friend, Loran Lain.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cheri's world revolved around her grandchildren; they were her world. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
