Cheryl Ann Techau, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at home with her family by her side. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A Luncheon to follow at Cedar Memorial Family Center.
Cheri was born August 27, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Grant and Lois (Stewart) Longenbaugh. She met Allen, her husband of 58 years, while attending Washington High School. They were united in marriage on June 12, 1965, in Cedar Rapids. Cheri was a loving mother and wife, full of joy, kindness, and generosity. She loved gardening, antiques, and needlework but above all else, she loved being with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Allen, her sons, Hunter (Kimm) Techau of Athol, Idaho, Walker (Lyn) Techau of Waconia, Minnesota, her grandchildren, Storm, Ember, Liam and Avery Techau and great-granddaughter, Calliopy Techau. Also surviving is her sister, Bonnie Banks of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law Mac Banks.
