Charmion L. Schultz, 90, of Hudson, Wis., formerly of Quasqueton, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, in Hudson.
Charmion was born June 12, 1928, in Edgewood, Iowa, the daughter of Harry C. and Pearl E. (Wooldridge) Frederick. She was a 1945 graduate of Independence High School and earned a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls in 1946. Charmion taught school in the Liberty No. 2 School System in Buchanan County, prior to her marriage to Robert J. Schultz on June 30, 1948. Charmion later earned a degree in early childhood development. She worked for several years as a teacher and a teacher's aide in the Black Hawk County Head Start Program. Her husband Bob (Robert) died on Nov. 4, 1992. In 2014, Charmion moved to Hudson to be closer to her daughter Gloria.
Charmion was a member of and held several positions with both the American Legion Auxiliary and the Quasqueton Union Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Steven) Johnson of Hudson, Wis.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Schultz; a son, Gregory Schultz; a daughter, Cynthia Klever; a grandson, Robert Schultz; and four sisters, Marian Hoffman, Erseline Murphy, Delight Finder and a baby girl, Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Reiff Family Center's Funeral Home in Independence with the Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Quasqueton Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 1:30 p.m. service.
