Blairstown
Charlotte Kerkman of Blairstown passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the age of three months and seven days. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Blairstown American Legion with the Rev. Diane Vorhies officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, at the Blairstown American Legion. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Charlie is survived by her loving parents, Joe Kerkman and Sam Hansen of Blairstown; her big brother, Memphis of Blairstown; her paternal grandma, Danielle Kerkman of Blairstown; her maternal grandfathers, Clay Haack and Dave Gasper of Blairstown; paternal great-grandparents, Mike (Lorraine) Kerkman of Van Horne; maternal great-grandmother. Diana Buhr, of Blairstown; two aunts, Brandy (Travis) Horner of Blairstown and Bailey Kerkman of Dysart; and her uncles, Justin Hansen and Danny Gasper of Blairstown. Also surviving are many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, LuAnn Gasper; her maternal great-grandfather, Frank Buhr, and his twins, Danny and David; a great-aunt, Glenda Kerkman; and a great-uncle, Joe Clifton.
Charlotte LuAnn Alynn Kerkman was born Jan. 29, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Charlie had a perfect little smile and was a blessing to her family. Her giggle would warm the hearts of those around her.
