Charlotte Ann Bonaventure, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be one hour before the service. Inurnment: 2:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshalltown.
Charlotte was born Dec. 6, 1934, the daughter of Millard and Ida (Deihl) Smith in Marshalltown. She graduated from Iowa Teachers College, where she earned her degree in teaching. Charlotte worked as a teacher in the Cedar Rapids area for 43 years before retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Noelridge Christian Church and was very active in Theatre Cedar Rapids. Charlotte also enjoyed volunteering and working at Brucemore Mansion.
Survivors include her two children, Ann (Fulvio) Zanette and Robert Bonaventure; sister, Jean Whitmore; niece, Jackie Gray; and two nephews, Nick Whitmore and Rod Whitmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
