Charline Elaine Greenlee was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Monette, Ark., the daughter of Charles Leo and Annabell (Whisenant) Allen. She grew up in Arkansas until 13 when they moved to Iowa. She graduated from North English High School in 1972. On July 18, 1972, Charline was united in marriage to Mark G. Greenlee in South English, Iowa. She worked at various places over the years, including Pride of Iowa and Oral B. She enjoyed fishing, going to the casinos, baking pies and bread and she loved to make and share her crafts. Charline died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at the English Valley Care Center at the age of 68 years.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Greenlee; son, Richard (Danielle) Greenlee; daughter, Patricia (David) Moxley, all of North English; five grandchildren, Colton (Alysha), Devin and Rayna Greenlee and Anthony (Ily) and Rusty Moxley; a great-grandson, Lukas; four sisters, Marilyn (Junior) Folkers of Central City, Becky (Gary) Wickenkamp of Keota, Linda (Randy) Schmuecker of Blairstown and Jannett (Chuck) Bogard of Central City; a brother, Charles (Kathy) Allen of Numa; her mother, Annabell Allen of North English; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her father.
Celebration of Life services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Powell Funeral Home in North English. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Transplant Unit. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
