Willis, Charles "Ed," 73, husband of Sue Ellen Willis, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Oct. 5, 1941, in Boone, Iowa, he was the son of the late Harold and Maxine Anderson Willis. Mr. Willis was a graduate of Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, where he was a member of Lamba Chi Fraternity. After retiring from Link Belt Speeder, he worked as an administrator for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Mr. Willis was a member of Southland Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Darcy (Stephen) Smith, Georgetown, Ky., and Stacie (Doug) Layne, Nicholasville, Ky.; one brother, Dean (Rachel) Willis, Marion; two sisters, Pam (Andy) Soteco, Colona, Ill., and Shelley (Paul) Greene, Cedar Rapids; and six grandchildren, Jason, Kayla, Layton, Ryan, Suellen and Thomas.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Nicholasville, Ky. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY 40513.
