Charles Thomas Robinson passed away peacefully Friday, January 23rd at Hiawatha Care Center due to cancer. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 16th, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Monday, February 16th at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Charles was born February 18th, 1934, in Tafton, PA to George and Elizabeth (Seig) Robinson. He was raised in Tafton and after graduating joined the Army in which he served for 4 years. After returning, he followed a friend to Iowa where he met Shirley (Andrews). They were united in marriage April 12th, 1957.
Charles was always an entrepreneur. First, starting out with his own meat delivery business, Kaylynn Meats, where he traveled all over Iowa to restaurants and bars. During this time, he also co-owned a stock car. He then acquired a gas station, named it Kaylynn Gulf, which later became Kaylynn Service, and also rented out UHauls from this location. Years later while still having the 2 prior businesses, he started an ice business, Kaylynn Ice, and a landscaping and plowing business. He always stayed busy.
Upon retirement he and Shirley camped, traveling to many campgrounds throughout Iowa. He loved gardening, sports, golfing, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, daughters Sharon (Jeff) Coberly, Cedar Rapids, and Carla (Bret) Brecke, Cedar Rapids, 6 grandsons, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, John Robinson Scranton, PA, one sister, Elizabeth Lambert Norfolk, VA, a very special nephew, Bill Coutts, Paupack PA.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, brother George Robinson, sister Janet Coutts, and his daughter Cheryl Coleman.
