Charles Robert “Bob” Rainwater, 77 of Farmington, Minn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sept. 4, 2023. A visitation will be held on Sept. 15, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held on Sept. 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Bob was born on Sept. 22, 1945, in Mount Vernon, Ill., the son of Cleave and Bernadine Rainwater. He married Pat Rainwater on June 10, 1967 in Peoria, Ill. After graduating from Bradley University, Bob served overseas in the Vietnam war as a staff sergeant in the Army, earning a bronze star. He went on to work in finance at Rockwell Collins for 34 years, retiring in 2001.
He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Chris (Stephanie) of La Quinta, Calif., and Chad (Kati) of Apple Valley, Minn.; a sister, Brenda Clancy (Jim) of Eagan, Minn.; two granddaughters, Callie and Rylie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Rainwater; and sister, Barbara Ackerman.
Bob enjoyed family vacations to Palm Springs, Calif. and cheering for his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. He loved playing dice and cards with his close friends and family. His contagious laugh and positive attitude will forever be remembered.
