Charles Richard Zvacek, age 86, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away at the West Ridge Care Center, on Monday, March 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
A private family inurnment will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of the Cross at a later date.
Charles was born on May 26, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was the son of the late Richard and Bessie (Hipple) Zvacek. On April 10, 1958, Charles married the love of his life, Cynthia Lou Weeks, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He belonged to the Waltonian Archers of Linn County. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He worked as a welder for many years at FMC Corporation before working as an assembler at Cedar Rapids Inc. until his retirement.
Those left to cherish Charles’ memory are his daughters, Debbie Zvacek of Kansas City, MO, and Laurie Zvacek, of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Jeremiah (Jill) Zvacek, of Fairfield, IA, Amanda (Cody) Chmelicek, of DeSoto, KS, Jennifer Jester, of Kansas City, MO, and Melissa (Jason) Russell, of Kansas City, MO; his great-grandchildren, Nico (Colton Engledow) Zvacek, Luci Zvacek, Tyler, Gavin Stoufer, Emma Davis, Marvin Hammond, Wesley, Colt, and Leyla Russell; his sister, Karen (Allan) Fluke, of Oklahoma City, OK, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice.
