Charles R. "Chuck" Boyles, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment with graveside military rites will be held at Urbana Memorial Cemetery.
Chuck was born Nov. 1, 1944, in rural Linn County, to Harold Earl and Eula (Mather) Boyles. Chuck served his Country in the U.S. Army for three years from 1961 through 1964. On July 20, 1963, he was united in marriage to Janice Russell in Center Point.
Chuck worked as a machinist at Hupp Electric Motors in Cedar Rapids. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Walter J. Meyocks Post 264 in Urbana.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Janice; his daughter, Rhonda (Stacy) Winistorfer; and son, Ronald Boyles, all of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Kyla (Travis Furgason) Klima of Ladora and Bret Klima of Urbana; three great-grandchildren, Chase and Dixie Klima and Parker Furgason; his brother, David Boyles of Urbana; and his sister, Doris (Packy) Packingham of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Riffey; and three brothers, Earl, Leslie and Gary Dean Boyles.
