Charles (Chuck) Morris Knoblauch, 70, of Frisco, Texas, passed away June 21, 2015, at his home after a second battle with cancer.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1944, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Ruth Amelia Niemand and Maurice M. Knoblauch. Chuck worked as an electrician as a union member with IBEW 405 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for a number of years. Following that, he worked at HL&P and Pedernales Electric, before retirement. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Knoblauch of Frisco, Texas; three children, Keri Ness of Cedar Rapids, Lisa McCormick and husband Robert of Frisco, Texas, and Jeffrey Knoblauch of Frisco, Texas; five grandchildren, Zach Gorman and wife Amanda, Tyler Ness, Jacob McCormick, Eric Knoblauch and Andrew McCormick; two great-grandchildren, Zander Gorman and Zaiden Gorman; siblings, Sandy Valentine and husband Doug of North Liberty and Denny Knoblauch and wife Sandy of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, at the Elks Lodge in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service in Frisco, Texas, will be held at a later date.
