Charles Herbert Osterkamp, 72 passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Charles was born on Sept. 12, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Herbert and Catherine (Wirth) Osterkamp. Charles graduated in 1969, from Thomas Jefferson High School. He was united in marriage to Sheri Loeffler on Dec. 26, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Charles was employed at Midland Forge and retired after 39 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, was passionate about vehicles, painting and drawing. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his son, Marcus (Lesley) Osterkamp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren, Heather Osterkamp of Hiawatha, Iowa, Cassidy Osterkamp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Madalyn Osterkamp of San Diego, Calif., and Isabela Osterkamp of Marion, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Mann; a brother, Thomas Osterkamp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; spouse, Sheri Osterkamp; and a son, Jason Osterkamp.
