Charles Allen Forester, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Strawberry Point, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.
He was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Harvey, Ill., the son of James S. and Alice (Pfrommer) Forester. Charles was a 1963 graduate of Starmont High School and served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. On Feb. 24, 1968, Charles married the former Betty Gerner of Garber, Iowa.
Charles worked for 10 years at Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids and then became self-employed and enjoyed collector cars and Harley motorcycles.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathi (Trent) Miller of Palo; son, Will (special friend Janeen) Forester of Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter, Lexi McKernan of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Barbara Diane Hofer of Sumner and Cheri (Vic) Moreno of Arizona.
