Charles "Chuck" Leroy Flint, 60, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 28, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Chuck was born Jan. 21, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Charles Franklin and Roberta Jean (Freday) Flint. He attended Kennedy High School and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids and studied business administration. He married Mary H. (Turley) Burgess on Feb. 28, 1998, in Ely. He was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids and an active member and union representative of Roofers Local 182. Chuck was a commercial roofer and retired from T & K Roofing. He also helped form Mid-West Viking Club of Cedar Rapids.
He was beloved and will be sorely missed.
Chuck is survived by his mother, Roberta Flint of Camdenton, Mo.; father, Charles (Donna) Flint of Delhi, Iowa; three brothers, Christopher (Janice) Flint of Alton, Ill., Curtis Flint of Camdenton, Mo., and Craig (Karrie Brown, fiancee) Flint of Vinton; two stepsisters, Dawn (Lance) Smeins and Deanne K. Ross; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Flint.
