Charles Edward Collins, 74, of Swisher, Iowa, passed
away Feb. 5, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Per his wishes, he has
been cremated. No Services will be held at this time. Cedar Memorial is assisting with arrangements.
Charles was born on Sept. 25, 1946, in Salem, Va., to Norbert and Darlene (Mathews) Collins. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. He then went on to The University of Iowa and received his bachelor's in mechanical engineering in 1969. He married the love of his life Phyllis Beaver on June 7, 1968 in West Liberty, Iowa. He spent many years working as a truck driver.
He loved playing cards and watching his favorite shows on TV. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his dog Spinelli.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, along with his aunt and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Collins; children, Michele Lea Collins, of Cedar Rapids and Jason Collins of Swisher; grandchildren, Zeya and Jadyn Collins of Cedar Rapids; sister, Dawn (Larry) Hayslett of Belleview, Wis.; and nieces, Maya (Dan) Haug of Ames and Kali (Cara) DeHart of Corpus Christie, Texas.
Memorials may be directed to the Linn County Humane Society.
