Beloved Dutch passed peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2022. He enjoyed a long 98 years of life, filled with joy and adventure, including worldwide travels and summer trips to the family cabin at Separation Lake, Ontario, Canada.
He was born in Victor, Iowa, to Charles "Skinny" and Laura (Refer) Schlesselman. He met his wife Teed at the University of Iowa in 1945, and together they owned and operated the Ranch Supper Club in Cou Falls, Victorian Inn, Victor and Forum, Cedar Rapids.
He was a member of ATO Fraternity, Elmcrest Country Club, University Athletic Club, and was the longest living member of the Cedar Rapids Elks Club.
They raised four children: John and David, previously deceased; Diane (James) Klinger and Carol (Robert) Rudd and moved to Seattle two years ago. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many loving relatives.
