Charles (Chuck) Melvin Dennison, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at Meth-Wick Community with family by his side. Charles was born on December 28, 1931 in Leesburg, PA, the son of Paul Clayton and Emma Hazel Dennison. He married the love of his life, his Snow White, Patricia, on June 9, 1951. Charles served in the Navy, graduated from Grove City College and earned his MBA from the University of Iowa. He spent his early career at Collins/Rockwell as an electrical engineer designing radio components for the U.S. space program, and after 31 years retired from there in Business Development. Charles and Patricia built a family business, Weddings, Etc., that kept them busy for 20 years. Together, they spent a life full of love and laughter, believing in faith and family above all things. Patricia passed away in 2019 and the family is at ease knowing they are together again.
Charles is survived by three daughters; Pastor Catherine Burroughs, Bobbie Jo (John) Pumell and Melissa (Kevin) Clapp. Five grandchildren; Michael (Dani) Burroughs, Tony (Stephanie) Digmann, Father Kyle Digmann, Larissa (Jeremy) Curl and Kelsey (Holden) Merritt. Along with 11 great-grandchildren; Davissen Runde; Tristen, Avalon and Gavin Burroughs; Rebecca, Aaron and Ethan Digmann; Kylee, Korie and Kade Curl; and Harper Merritt.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his parents; sister; and granddaughter, Lesley Burroughs Runde.
Visitation will be 3:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with funeral service for both Charles and Patricia to follow at 4:00 pm. Interment to be at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
