Charles S. "Chuck" Davis, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A memorial service and celebration of life for Chuck are planned for Friday, Aug. 19, at the Linwood Murdoch Legacy Center, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. Visitation time will begin at 2 p.m., followed at 3 p.m. with prayer, sharing time and full military rites.

I just do not have the words to express my extreme gratitude and confidence in the care provided Chuck over the last several years by the CR Vets Counseling Center, CR VA CBOC, VA Iowa City Home Health Care team, Mercy Cedar Rapids clinics and doctors and Mayo Clinics and St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. I am grateful for the kindness and support of my wonderful family and friends, Mercy Hospice of Cedar Rapids and the Oldorf Hospice House staff, as they helped him, and all of us, through the final transition of Chuck's life on this earth into eternal life.

I miss my husband and best friend immensely already, but he has so many family and longtime friends who love him so much. He will never be forgotten.

However you remember him, Charles, Chuck, Charlie, Judge, Veteran, Friend, Cousin, Uncle, Brother, Dad, Papa, "Honey," Peace Be With You. We all love you and always will! Your Loving Wife, Donna.
