Charles "Charlie" Pech died peacefully Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospice in Cedar Rapids from complications after a fall in his home. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont, Iowa, with the Rev. Lisa Schroeder officiating. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Military service by the Lamont American Legion. Interment: Campton Cemetery, rural Lamont, Iowa. At his request, memorials may be directed to the Loren Foster American Legion Post #346 of Lamont, Iowa, a local legion or the charity of the donor's choice.

Charlie is survived by his children, Dave (Bev) of Lamont, Barb (John) McKusker of Marengo and Joel of Carlisle; six grandchildren, Jon Pech, Leah (Chris) Eslick, Cody (Katie) Pech, Derek (Ashley) Pech, Mallory (Colin Jund) Pech and Andrew Pech; five great-grandchildren, Lily and Dylan Eslick, Josephine Pech, Bennett and Charlie Pech; one brother, Ed (Sherry) Pech; one sister, Shirley Hardin; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; brother: Don; and sister, Joyce Glass.
Charlie's family wants to extend their thanks to Lamont First Responders, the staff of VA Hospital, UIHC, St. Luke's Rehab and Hospice for the kind and compassionate care in his final weeks.
