Oxford Junction
Charles C. Carstensen, 90, of Oxford Junction, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at the Mechanicsville Care Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at the Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction. Dawson Funeral Services of Oxford Junction is assisting the family at this time.
Charles Chancy was born Oct. 26, 1931, to John and Katheryn (Hodgden) Carstensen. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1949. On March 29, 1952, he was united in marriage to Merilyn McClure at the Mount Vernon Methodist Church. Charles was a life long farmer in the Oxford Junction area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and taking road trips with his son.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Jon Carstensen of Mechanicsville, Jeff (Beth) Carstensen of Oxford Junction and Jodi (Steve) Streeper of Conroy; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; and a sibling in infancy.
