Charles "Bud" Fuller, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away
on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Celebration of life gathering will be from 1 to
4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. A time for prayer, reflection and sharing will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Brosh Chapel. Military rites will be conducted following the service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Charles was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Brownsville, Pa., the son of Charles Ewing and Thelma Margaret Fuller. He graduated from Scenery Hill School in Pennsylvania. Charles served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964-73 during the Vietnam War. Charles "Bud" was united in marriage to Teresa Malloy on June 2, 1984, in Casa Grande, Calif. Bud worked in his earlier years as a purchasing agent for Casa Grande Elementary School, and later was self-employed in general construction and remodeling. He participated in Run For The Wall
(2013-19), going from coast to coast, leading 3000 bikers leaving from California and arriving Memorial Day with 12,000 bikers including the Rolling Thunder in Washington, D.C. On his return trip he looked forward in joining his brother-in-laws for "the Big Stud Tour." He dedicated his time and talents in honoring service men in roles such as Honor Guard, Tail Gunner and Ambassador for Run for the Wall and his participation in the planning committee for future Runs. He was also a member of many veteran and service organizations, American Legion, VFW, Moose, Elks, NRA and the clean plate club. Bud will be remembered as a miticulas man with a welcoming smile and generous heart. He enjoyed time with family and friends, riding his trike and an occasional chocolate martini. He was a hero to many and a great conversationaist to young and old.
Bud is survived by the love of his life, Teresa; his siblings, Connie (John) Ross of Athem, Ariz., Carol (Jake) Buchnell of Tampa, Fla., and Ron (Yosh) Fuller of Chula Vista, Calif.; his in- and out-laws Eugene (Marge) Malloy of Lisle, Ill., Kevin (Pam) Malloy of Cedar Rapids, Pam Miller of Cedar Rapids, Denise (Steve) Leas of Fairfax, Daniel (Nanette) Malloy of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Anthony (Rebecca) Malloy of Riverside, Ill.; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma; brothers-in-law, John Ross and Jack Buchnell; nephew, Joey Fuller; and in-laws, Gerald and Dolores Malloy, Frances Malloy, Thomas Malloy, Lawrence Malloy and Louise Behling.
