CHARLENE THEONE (HERMAN) WILSON

Charlene Theone (Herman) Wilson, 84, went to be with the Lord on Mother's Day, May 14, 2017. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 19, with a 4 p.m. Scripture service, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids.
Charlene was born June 17, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, to Lyle E. and Vesta Herman. She was a graduate of Wilson High School. Charlene married Thomas O. Wilson in 1954. They had six children, 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two soon-to-be great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlene was a proud member of the Cedar Rapids Moose Lodge. She loved life, her family, her Catholic faith, charitable giving and competition. She was the rock of her family.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Tom (Kristine), Julie (Rollie) Hansen, David (Teresa), Steve (Debra), Cathy (Jim) Knoepfler and Sam (Jody); and brothers, Marvin and Jack Herman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ardis Hubbard and Naomi Brown; brother, Lyle (Ron) Herman; and great-granddaughter, Brielle Wilson.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cedar Rapids St. Vincent DePaul Society.
