Charlene May Angerer, 78, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, July 14. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery following the service.
Charlene was born April 18, 1944, to Henry and Madge (Church) Orr in Louisa County, Iowa. She married the love of her life, Jim Angerer, on Dec. 30, 1962, in Wapello, Iowa. Charlene had the important job of being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked many secretarial jobs, until she started her own company.
She enjoyed bowling, NASCAR racing, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and going to the casino. She loved spending time with family and cherished the time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Charlene is survived by her loving husband; children, Debbie Angerer, Annette (Bob) Stoddard and Greg Angerer; grandchildren, Dustin (Kelli) Angerer, Britni Christians (Caleb Ferguson), Jillian (Nathan) Andersen, Logan (Courtney) Wieneke, Nolan (Regan) Christians, Austin (Hannah) Wieneke and Brayden Wieneke; several great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Dorothy) Orr; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three babies who died at birth; her brother, Bob Orr; and her sister, Sue Askew.
