Charlene Lee Fortner, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died
at home Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, following a lengthy illness. Family will greet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina Webster; stepchildren, Carol (Ron) Whitney and Ken (Belinda) Fortner; half siblings, Darlene (Roger) Franck and Matt (Connie) Ewing; two brothers, Leslie Webster and Leonard (Gail) Webster; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyd Fortner; sister, Marilyn Carpenter; and great-niece, Faith LaCoursiere.
Charlene was born on April 29, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Geraldine (Dennis) Webster. She attended Kennedy High School. Charlene married Boyd Fortner on Aug. 16, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing bingo.
