Charlene Catherine Wolfe passed away on Nov. 24, 2023, at the age of 83.
Charlene was born in Santa Ana, Calif., on July 23, 1940. She was raised by her mother Catherine. They moved frequently around the country and lived in several states, including New York, Tennessee, Utah, and Texas. She lived in Dallas during her junior year of high school where she became a Debutante. Then she returned to Los Angeles where she completed her senior year. She attended USC, and later became a hypnotherapist and had a successful private practice. Murray Wolfe was a client of hers. He quickly quit his therapy sessions so he could date her. They married in 1981 and had been married for 34 years at his passing in 2015.
Murray and Charlene had a wonderful and colorful life together. They enjoyed traveling, theatre, classical and jazz concerts, collecting art, books, antiques, and many friends. Charlene was an avid reader, gardener, gourmet cook, and quilter.
Later in life, Charlene and Murray made the decision to leave Los Angeles and retire in Cedar Rapids where they purchased and remodeled a beautiful home and lived the most peaceful and happiest years of their lives.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Murray Wolfe, her parents, and her sister. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Lisa (Paul) Bowler; grandchildren, Gareth (Jenny) Bowler, Hannah Bowler; and great-granddaughter, Maizy.
Charlene's final resting place will be beside Murray in Mission Hills, Calif. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.cedarmemorial.com under Obituaries.
