Chappell, Kurt A.
Kurt A. Chappell, 51, of Arlington, was found deceased at his home on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at St. John Lutheran Church, Arlington, with the Rev. Paul Fohs officiating. Visiting with the family will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the church. Inurnment: Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington. Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Arlington, is assisting Kurt's family with service arrangements.

Kurt Allen Chappell was born on July 5, 1960, at Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Kenneth James and Wanda Mae (Koehler) Chappell. He graduated from Starmont High School in 1978. Kurt was married to Nancy Rahe in 1984 and they later divorced. Kurt worked at Purina in Oelwein and later worked road construction at Carlson - Knife River Construction and was currently at Flynn Construction in Dubuque. Kurt was a lifelong Arlington area resident. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and NASCAR. Kurt will be remembered as a person who lived life to the fullest.
Kurt is survived by his daughter, Ashley Chappell of Waukon; parents, Ken and Wanda Chappell of Arlington; two sisters, Jackie (Dave) Green of Urbandale and Janet (Mike) Beer of Bondurant; maternal grandparents, Sam and June Koehler of Arlington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Loretta Chappell.
