Chapman, Hulda Elizabeth
Hulda Elizabeth Chapman, 92, died peacefully on Aug. 9, 2013, at the Clarence Nursing Home in Clarence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. Visitation will be before the service starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.

Survivors include her sons, Warren (Kathy) Chapman, Lowden, and Wayne (Julie) Chapman, Springville; five grandchildren, Ross (Shelley) Chapman, Corey (Melissa) Chapman, Renee Chapman, Ryan Jedlicka and Katy (Jeremy) Clapham; seven great-grandchildren, Derek Sedrel, Rachel Chapman, Emilie Chapman, Ella Chapman, Joshua Chapman, Addysen Clapham and Jordyn Clapham; two sisters, Hazel Ervin, Wilton, and Mary Lou (Vernon) Voss, Bennett; and brother, Harlan (Marjorie) Ketelsen, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell H. Chapman; and twin sister, Helen Voss.
Hulda was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Wilton, Iowa, the daughter of Ludwig and Mary Beulah (Wagner) Ketelsen. She married Russell Chapman on April 9, 1939. Together they farmed in Wilton and Lowden before moving to Tipton. She worked many years at Reeve Drug Store and later at Snyder's Drugstore. Hulda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. She enjoyed playing cards and doing counted cross-stitch.
