Chambers, LaMay Marie
LaMay Marie Chambers, 82, of Peru, Ill., died Sept. 4, 2010. Graveside services will be at a later date.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon Dean (Ann) Chambers of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Thomas (Kim) Chambers of Alburnett; a daughter, Karen (Kenny) Johnson of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Gordon Dean Chambers III, Ashley Chambers and Kirsten (Phillip) Seebeck; and two great-grandchildren, Noelle and Jude Seebeck.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964; a sister, Eula Kuhne; and her parents.
LaMay was born May 17, 1928, in Standard, Ill., to William and Edith (Meyers) Lonie. She married Gordon Dean Chambers in 1949. LaMay was a clerk for the News-Tribune for 25 years and a member of the United Methodist Church in LaSalle, Ill.
She loved to watch the Chicago Cubs and also enjoyed the WGN news. She was a great seamstress and did lots of alterations for many people.
LaMay will be dearly missed by her family.
